Author Carlos Detwieiller sends a disturbing manuscript to a publisher, who turns him into the police.
Synopsis The Plant, published by King's Philtrum Press, was printed exclusively as a Christmas gift to two hundred "friends" of King. Although this book is scarce, copies can be purchased by clicking on the above link to Alibris.com. The collection of letters, memo's, and newspaper articles concern Carlos Detwieiller, a author from Rhode Island who is trying to publish his book, True Tales of Demon Infestations. The publisher of Zeneth Press, John Kenton, shows interest, so Carlos sends the entire document, including pictures that resemble a real human sacrifice. Disturbed by the graphic photos, Kenton reports Detwieiller to the police. The man depicted in the photos is actually alive and well, living in Detweiller's apartment. Detweiller, extremely angry over the incident, seeks revenge on Kenton for defemation of his character.
